"Education at a Glance""Education at a Glance" is the result of intense co-operation between the governments of the country members of the OECD, the experts and institutions taking part in the program for education indicators of the OECD (INES) and the Secretariat of the OECD.

The main themes approached are :
- results of education establishments and learning impact
- financial and human resources invested in education
- access to education, participation and progress
- pedagogical environment and school organisation
- …

The Statistics Department, in partnership with the Direction for International Relations, contributes to the setting-up of an international system of education indicators. this project, named INES, under the responsibility of the organisation for economic co-operation and development (OECD), rests on the contributions of a technical group, mainly entrusted with the collection of statistical data, and three networks (A, B and C), entrusted with qualitative thematic studies.

The Statistics Department participates in the technical group, the principal mission of which is to represent the education system of the French Community through the participation in the UOE collection of yearly data on pupils / students, diplomas, education staff members and financial resources invested in education as well as various enquiries in this field.

The networks are, among other things, entrusted with the development of indicators around the acquired capacities and knowledge of pupils (A-network), the transition between school and active life, the training level of population (B-network) as well as the conditions and school environment (C-network). These studies are now made by researchers from the universities of Liège and Mons.

The co-ordination between the various actors of the INES project is taken care of by the Direction for International Relations. All these synergies result in the publication of various works by the OECD, the European Union, the UNESCO as well as the French Community , whereby the UOE collection is common to three international organisations.
